President-Elect, Trump

Not that you asked, but this is why I personally was so appalled by the results of Election 2016.

From my point-of-view...

Both spent their lives in the public eye; both had large, public failures. However, we laughed at one and raised investigations on the other.

Both are power-hungry and they strive to be the best. However, one is hailed as a steadfast entrepreneur and the other is seen as an intolerable narcissist.

Both had their relationships scrutinized during their campaigns. However, one was under suspicion for multiple charges of sexual assault and the other one was being penalized by the public for her husband's actions.

Both had secrets they wanted to keep hidden. Tax returns and embezzlement charges vs. an illegal email server.

Both were disliked for the way they interacted with the public. One was impulsive, insulting, and unintelligible while the other was overly scripted and rigid.

Overall, both were highly disliked and split their parities. Of course, policy plays a huge role in how the election played out, but I have a deep yearning to know how this election played out if Hillary was born a man.

How I see it...

You had a woman who has dedicated her life and career to our country, to public service, to grooming herself to be fit for this very position. However, the fact that she worked systematically and methodically to advance her career at the same time was seen as a detriment.

It didn't matter that her career was dedicated to bettering the people she served. The public saw it as a reflection of poor character. She is a woman who worked her ass off to served yet DARED to want to outperform others. Her goal was to be the best... thus she is untrustworthy.

She has an ego. So what? She wanted to be the best at serving others and making our country great.

(Oh, well, you know... women shouldn't expect to work in a sphere dominated by men and actually achieve success... or worse... outsmart them.)

Although she was unquestionably qualified, she did not and still does not act in a way that satisfies typical standards of femininity.
